Using Failure as a Your Key to Your Success
FAILURE ~
Just typing the word, I can feel the power. Failure has extreme side effects. There are so many people who do not live their lives to their full potential because they are afraid to fail. Les Brown, in his motivational event once said, the most talented people in the world are at the graveyard because they died taking their greatness with them. They were afraid of failure.
How many of us know someone who had an extraordinary talent? A sibling who could sing beautifully? A cousin who had the potential to be an outstanding artist? A friend from high school who rushed more yards than any other in the state? And YOU who _____________________.
And me, who was told from 5th grade, that I had extraordinary creativity, imagination and should pursue writing. I was encourage by many to go after a career as a writer and further they thought I had the ability and potential to become a great author.
If you are like me, fear of failure was a contributing factor to my lack of drive toward that goal. Many others are just like us. We are not alone. I was afraid of many things, including:

How has failure and the fear negatively impacted your life?
Sit still and reflect on your life. Think about all of the things that you wanted to do but didn't. Reflect on the hopes and dreams that you had when you were younger, hungry and full of hope. Write down in your journal what you come up with. Express how you feel about the opportunities missed. Stay there only for a moment then shake it off and get ready to move forward.
What is the upside of failure? Is there one? Absolutely!
As you witnessed in the video, failure is the greatest tool for success. From failure is born:
Failure CAN be a key to your success! Guess what! You can use your power of decision to ensure that you utilize the strength of failure to eliminate the fear of if. You can also decide that beginning today, you will choose to use failure to your advantage.
Here is an affirmation to help move you forward. Say it to yourself whenever you are feeling anxious about speaking up or speaking out. Whenever you are unsure about taking the next step or worried about missing the step altogether; repeat this affirmation to yourself. Post in a wall, on a sticky on your monitor or write it on an index card and put it in your planner or bag. Keep your affirmation close by so you can easily call on it in time of need.
