How to Become a Visionary to Create the Life You Want
Question: Is it true that if you have a vision that means that you are a visionary?
Answer: No
You may have a vision as a result of your dreams and passions. You may perceive the possibility of realizing your dreams. Unfortunately that is not enough to be considered a visionary. You probably have a dream or a passion that you conceive possible for achievement. However, it is not until you put the plan in action that you become a visionary.
As a visionary your goal is realized based on your dreams and vision. Visionaries are innovative, enterprising and resourceful. You are moving the fantasy of your vision into a tangible outcome. Your vision is the broad general intention that is abstract and can't be validated. On the other hand, as a visionary your actions are precise and concrete. Your plan is narrowly focused, based on specifics and can be validated.
Question: Why is it important to be a visionary and not just have a vision?
Answer: Your vision alone is long term so you may spend too much time daydreaming about what you want. It is difficult to measure a vision so you will not be able to gauge how close you are to realizing your end result. Unlike a visionary, who establishes short term movement toward the goal and can easily measure proximity of goal achievement. This is beneficial to you because if you are not on target to execute your plan in a timely manner or you are faced with barriers you are able to immediately recalculate a new direction or amended the plan where necessary.
Do you have a vision or are you a visionary?
Is this you?
Your vision: I want to own my own business.
When? One day
How close are you to owning your own business? Making progress, hard to know exactly.
What is your business and what does it look like? Still dreaming and figuring it out.
Is this you
I am going to get a business license on Friday to sell vintage clothing to women in a store on Main Street. I will sign the lease by month's end to open my store by June.
Your vision is your:
- Dream
- Plan
- Goal
As a visionary you are set into action. You are executing your vision. You are on the move.
Understanding a Visionary
A visionary is insightful and looks in all areas of their life and environment to discover their available resources and tools needed for success. As a visionary you will begin to think specifically and calculate your journey to achievement. You will be wise and in your decision making. You will handle your finances as a shrewd business woman.
Visionaries are able to adapt to change and look for creative solutions to overcome obstacles. As a visionary you will use adversity as learning tools and setbacks as a device to keep you focused on your mission. You will view challenges as the Universe's message to you for deeper understanding and action.
The visionary is not a victim of their circumstances, they create their circumstance. They are the co-creator of their existence. They sit in the driver seat and decide the direction of their life; not waiting for directions from someone else. They are producers, executives, entrepreneurs and leaders. You too can be the manager of your life as a visionary.
- Own your life. The good, the bad and even the ugly. Take responsibility for your past, learn from your poor choices, appreciate your mistakes and plan for your future. Decide that you are not a victim, you are a victor. Beginning today!
- Thrive in knowledge and continuous learning. Indulge yourself in self-development and self-improvement as they both are essential as you continuously EVOLVE.
- Surround yourself with positive people. Seek out industry leaders, successful people or anyone that has achieved the goals that you want to accomplish. Follow community leaders and those that revered. Watch how they behave, where they go, what they do and how they experience life. This is a step toward your EMPOWERMENT.
- Utilize change, challenge, barriers and obstacles as tools to learn, grow and develop. Each of the above will demonstrate your strength. You will learn to tap into your hidden potential. Your ability to adapt will increase as well as your ability to engineer change.
- Make your dreams mobile. Do not allow them to be stationary. You must be the co-creator of your life. It is essential that you execute your vision. Perform your dreams and create your fantasy in real life. As a result you will live in an EXCEPTIONAL space.
A visionary utilizes negative situations as lessons to learn from. They use barriers as a tool to tap into their hidden potential. A visionary will see obstacles as the vehicle for their resourcefulness. Change for a visionary is the instrument to create greatness!
You too can move your vision into your transformation to a visionary. Move your dreams into reality. Your inspiration can translate your enterprising spirit. Partner your foresight with wisdom and you will be on your way to success. Together your innovative mind and your shrewd consciousness will create your optimum life. As a result you will be in position of reverence and honor. You will lead others to seek greatness and lead by example a REVOULUTIONARY existence.
Begin now, make note of your dreams. What do you envision for your life? What do you hope to accomplish in this life? You would like to inspire to something, what is it? What do you daydream about?
Now think about:
- What conditions are necessary in your life to make that a reality?
- What resources do you need?
- What skills must be developed?
- What knowledge must you have?
- What do you need to accomplish before you can achieve your goal?

5 Steps to Moving from your Past and into your Future
- Charles Kettering
Look at your past, review it, let it go and begin to plan your future.
You must not allow your less than joyful yesterdays be the predictor for an unhappy future. Here are 5 steps to getting unstuck from your past and move into planning your future.
Step 1
Make a list of all the things that you can do differently. If there are things that you may not have direct control of or specifically influence than identify those around you that do. Think about how they can help you.
Step 2
As you think about your experience look for any positive outcomes or influences the experience brought you. What did you learn? What impact did the experience have on you and how did that experience shape who you are? Ponder those positive features that you have in your life right now.
Step 3
Create an on-off switch to thwart your negative thoughts and behaviors. Snap your fingers, gently tap your foot or close your eyes and take a deep breath whenever you are experiencing negative energy. Signal your brain that negative thoughts are unacceptable. Consistently repeating this response to your negative feelings will help you to control of any current negative behavior. Negative thoughts results from less than positive feelings. Your behavior will follow suit if you do not take control of it.
Step 4
Whenver you are faced with negative feeling about an incident or area in your past use this affirmatiive statement to give your clarity about your history.
I can not make yesterday better. I can not change the past.
Repeat this to yourself everytime you begin to feel vicitimized by your past. Do not allow your not so positive thoughts about your past paralyze you. Let go of the past as well as your pity party.
Step 5
Every morning as part of your daily meditation or prayer incorporate this affirmation to get you on the right track for the day.
Today, I begin anew. This is the first day of my new life.
The beauty of this affirmation is you get to start over everyday!
